What is the Most Appropriate OWL Tool for Organizing and Presenting Lesson Content?

Perhaps not surprisingly, the best OWL tool for organizing and presenting lecture material is the Lessons tool. The Lessons tool allows instructors to present lesson content in a variety of media, including instructor notes, attached files, weblink, visual media, interactive modules, and auditory media such as podcasts. Unlike the Resources folder, where individual files or links are presented with little possibility of putting them in the context of other course materials, the Lessons tool allows instructors to present course content cohesively, much like in a face-to-face class. The PDF below presents tips and tricks for effectively using the Lesson tool to organize your course material. It also provides instructions on naming elements of your lessons so that students develop a consistent expectation about where to look for materials.
